Café Strange Brew

Don't let the name fool you, there is nothing strange about this cafe. Definitely not their brew. Located in the heart of Shawlands, Café Strange Brew has a fantastic brunch menu serving full Scottish breakfasts.

The hundreds of excellent reviews say a lot about this cozy cafe, where everything is cooked fresh on the spot using the best local and organic produce. For those with a sweet tooth, try their pancakes with banana, topped with salted caramel and toasted coconut. But, if you like your pancakes savory, go for the ones with streaky bacon and maple syrup. And that is not all!

The menu is so rich that you'll have a hard time deciding what to get. With brunch dishes like crispy fried duck eggs and peat smoked haddock, the Café Strange Brew has taken brunch to a whole new level. 287 Langside

287 Longside is a new bakery and a takeaway coffee bar in the southside. It is only open from Friday till Sunday, and they serve a wide range of baked goods, some of the finest in Glasgow. You can find anything from sourdough bread, filled Sourdough rolls, exceptional cakes, chocolate, cookies, biscotti, and excellent coffee to go along with it.

This trendy bakery also sells crafts by local artists and products from local growers. It's a lovely new addition to Govanhill, so make sure to stop by if you are in the neighborhood.
