Polin Muzeum

This is an amazing museum and a humbling one and you will feel like you have been shown a key aspect of Polish cultural history when you leave the Polin Museum. You can spend a large part of a day here easily at this historic centre, so don't plan on popping in and out.

Muzeum Powstania Warszawskiego
This is a free museum that offers you access to information about the fight for a free Poland and the sacrifices that have been made to create this opportunity for the country. The communist years are discussed in detail as well, and there are over 800 artifacts here that you can learn about, and some are even interactive. The Warsaw Uprising Museum is one of the museums that anyone familiar with would recommend visiting when you are staying in the city. Museum of King Jan III's Palace at Wilanow
This lovely royal palace has beautiful gardens that are absolutely incredible just by themselves, but the interior of the royal castle building is also incredible. There is no English guide available, but you will still love getting to see this minor country home that belonged to the royals of Poland at one time. The museum itself can be a bit cramped and dark in some spaces, but this also shows you just how living in a castle really would have been when this location was in use as a residence.
Royal Castle
The Royal Castle and the Castle Square area as well as the Royal Route are all great options to enjoy when the weather is not the best. This was the former residence of the royal family of Poland, but it isn't anyone's home anymore. You will love that you can visit this spot without worrying about anyone being in residence, as is the case in some other cities. This spot was actually rebuilt after the Nazis completely destroyed it during the uprising. The current Castle Square area and the buildings that are on it are recreations of the original building that were installed in the 1970s. You can still head to the Old Town area to visit this museum and learn a lot about the history of this city as well as the Nazi presence that created so much chaos for the city at one time.
Free Chopin Concerts
In the summer, there are often free Chopin concerts that are held near the monument to Chopin in the Royal Kazienki Park. These are held on sundays from May to September. Even when it is raining these concerts might still go on. You should at least drop by if the weather is fairly mild and see if the concerts are being held despite a little bit of inclement weather from time to time. Copernicus Science Centre
This huge and impressive science museum is one of the best in Europe. You might want to head here as soon as you step off the train when you arrive in the city. The dining here is entirely chef-focused, which means that you will essentially be eating at specialty restaurants.
