Long Beach Airport presently spans close to 1200 acres and has over 200 businesses on the airport property. The airport is an important part of the community and is one of the world's busiest when it comes to general aviation activity. There are aviation service companies and aircraft service centers located here, along with a business park and hotels. Passenger and cargo service goes through the airport as well. The airport is 12 minutes from the city of Long Beach.
Fun Fact: From the years 1910 to 1919, seven miles of beach served as Long Beach's airport, with bi-planes often seen taking off amidst spray and sand.
