Fulham Broadway welcomes around 12 million visitors every year and has all the needed amenities for a fun day in town. The tube station first opened in 1880 but was soon renovated to handle the large crowds attending football matches at Stamford Bridge, home of Chelsea Football Club.
F.C. Chelsea is among the most popular clubs in England’s Premier League, the highest division in the football-crazed nation. Currently, Stamford Bridge seats just under 42,000 spectators, but there are plans to expand the stadium to accommodate 63,000 within the next few years. The increased seating capacity is expected to draw even more visitors to Fulham and nearby neighborhoods.
Fulham is mostly residential and one of the pricier neighborhoods to live in London. Although it garners working-class roots in business and manufacturing, it gradually morphed into one of London’s ritziest districts by the end of the 20th century.
Trendy boutiques, grandiose homes, and upscale markets decorate the area, and the River Thames bends around the borough’s outskirts. Fulham makes up for its lack of green spaces with scenic riverside parks, and boisterous pubs that celebrate the district’s brewing heritage.
A trip to Fulham Broadway can include stylish eateries, an energizing workout, and a bit of retail therapy. The centre boasts over a dozen shops, diverse food outlets, and a team of dedicated health professionals. With its convenient location on the London Underground’s District line, Fulham Broadway is a delightful spot to meet friends or family.
If you venture outside the shopping centre, Fulham has plenty of markets, restaurants, and gastropubs for a wide range of interests. Stamford Bridge is right outside the tube station, and visitors can tour the stadium even when there’s no fixture scheduled.

Stamford Bridge Stadium: Many of London’s memorable football matches have transpired inside this historic stadium. Constructed in the late 19th century, it has been the site of Chelsea home games since 1905. The club has been one of London’s most successful franchises, and they’ve built a fanbase from all parts of the globe.
There has been much expansion to the facility, and club supporters can wander the Chelsea Museum to celebrate their team’s accomplishments. The club’s most iconic matches and impactful players are recognized, and cherished memorabilia are on display inside the exhibits. Nowhere else in London will you find such a collection of historic football relics.
Fulham Palace: Located next to Bishops Park along the River Thames, Fulham Palace is a beautiful home that traces its roots to the Middle Ages. It was once the residence of the Bishop of London and is now a museum that showcases British history. The facility also contains an extravagant art gallery that includes paintings and portraits.
In 2019, a restoration project completed the revival of the palace’s gardens to include an opulent walled garden. The complex features orchards, fruits and vegetables, and a greenhouse. Volunteers do tremendous work maintaining the space and getting the community involved with the project.
There is a playground for the kids at Bishops Park, and the spacious lawn gives you lots of room to enjoy a beautiful day. Spend the afternoon with a family picnic or stop by the cozy café for a cup of joe.
North End Road Market: Roughly a 10-minute walk from the Fulham Broadway tube station, North End Road Market is a vibrant spot to shop for fruits and vegetables at a quality price. The market has operated for over 100 years and remains one of London’s most popular seasonal markets.
In fact, it won the 2019 award for the ‘Best Community/Parish Market’ at the Great British Market Awards. Not only will find fresh produce readily available, but traders also supply cheese, olive oil, meat, fishmongers, and more. Don’t forget to bring cash since vendors don’t accept credit cards.
The market operates Monday-Saturday from 8am to 6pm and is a fantastic place to immerse yourself in the local culture. There are plenty of bargains, charity shops, and food stalls that offer delicacies from around the world.
Convenient to the Met, which does not allow luggage at coat check. Very easy check in and check out process, with lovely people at the front!
This was so cool!!!! Great service, extremely easy to use, and totally affordable! I didn't know where I'd leave my luggage while we explored San Fran, so I easily Googled luggage storage and found this company. At first it was a little odd dropping my bag off at a chocolate store, but the lady at the register was able to immediately pull up my reservation without any problems and then she put a lock on my suitcase and gave me a card to get it back with. She pushed the bag to the back of their storage room and I came back about 6 hours later to pick it up. Great service, I will definitely be using this again when I travel!
Can’t believe I haven’t used this service until now. So easy & convenient. I 100% recommend.
I used Bounce during a recent trip to NYC, and I was pleasantly surprised at the ease and convenience of the process. To be honest, at first, I was very apprehensive. The thought of leaving your stuff at a random store, in a place where you are not from and you don't know whether is safe or not, it doesn't matter if anyone gives it a seal of approval, its difficult to be completely comfortable with the idea. However, I was very glad to be proven wrong. The place I chose was a great, clean bodega/deli in Soho and they were very responsive and the whole process felt very seamless. It was our last day in NYC and we had the full day before leaving the city, however our Airbnb was on the upper east side so we did not want to have to go back and forth. I would definitely recommend Bounce for travelers, especially when you need a place to just store your luggage for the day. The price could not be beat (since its for the whole day) and I will definitely be using this again!
Fantastic experience with Bounce! Stored a bag at the Grand Central location and on my last day at the 9/11 Memorial location. Both locations had friendly, efficient staff that were helpful and made everything very easy. Such a great option if your hotel isn't ready or you don't want the hassle of a bag in the city. Great, safe option. Thanks Bounce!
