As the capital of a rich nation for centuries, London isn't short of grand old hotels. However, the St. Giles Hotel isn't one of them. Built in 1977, the hotel is an example of the brutalist architecture that was popular during London's postwar building boom. But although the hotel may not be known for its architectural beauty, its location makes it one of the most popular in London. Also home to the YMCA, St. Charles Hotel office 675 rooms to its guests that are just steps away from some of London's top attractions.
With casinos, theaters, restaurants, bars, pubs, museums, and art galleries all at your doorstep, the St. Giles is ideally placed to explore London. So even though it may not be the most photogenic location in the city, its neighborhood is one well worth exploring.
It's the neighborhood it occupies that sets the St. Giles apart from other London hotels. Whatever you like to do, chances are, you'll find it here. Some of London's most popular attractions are within walking distance of the hotel. And those that aren't are usually just a short Tube ride away.
Try your luck in the St. Giles casino. Next door to the hotel, the casino has a direct entrance from the lobby and is open 24 hours a day. With a little luck, you could make your London trip even more memorable with a big win. But if not, you can still have fun playing the table games and electronic machines here.
Step back in time at the British Museum. One of the world's top museums, this institution is only a few steps away from St. Giles Hotel. The sprawling museum is home to a staggering collection of artifacts from British and world history, including the controversial Parthenon marble statues of Greece and an extensive Egyptian collection. Best of all, this popular attraction is completely free to visit.
Delve into London's literary history at Russell Square. This urban park has appeared in several classic novels, including Thackeray's Vanity Fair, Virginia Woolf's Night and Day, and John Wyndham's The Day of the Triffids. If the weather allows, it's also a peaceful place for a picnic in the shade of the trees.
Explore more of the intellectual hub of London with a Bloomsbury walking tour. Walk in the footsteps of Charles Dickens, Charles Darwin, Vladimir Lenin, and the Beatles as you explore the fascinating history of the area.

Many bus routes serve the tube station, including 19, 29, 8, 38, 73, and others.

Trafalgar Square: Named after the British victory over Napoleon at the Battle of Trafalgar, the Square is famous for Nelson's column, a towering monument honoring the victorious British Admiral. It's also a great place to people-watch and take in the vibe of this cosmopolitan city. Surrounded by bars, restaurants, quirky stores, and other attractions, Trafalgar Square is the perfect place to get a glimpse into just how much London has to offer.
Sherlock Holmes Museum: If you're a fan of Sherlock Holmes, you have to visit the Sherlock Holmes Museum at 221B Baker St. One of only a few museums in the world dedicated to a fictional character, this Victorian house is maintained just as it would've appeared in the heyday of Arthur Conan Doyle's beloved detective series. The narrow halls and small rooms of this townhouse are a bad place to bring large bags, so make sure you drop yours off before visiting the house of the world's greatest detective.
Camden Market: London is home to many legendary open-air markets, but Camden Market may be the most notorious of them all. The joy of visiting this trendy spot is that you never know what you might find. While the market has gone upscale in recent decades, it still offers an offbeat and anarchic vibe, along with hundreds of eclectic stalls.
Convenient to the Met, which does not allow luggage at coat check. Very easy check in and check out process, with lovely people at the front!
This was so cool!!!! Great service, extremely easy to use, and totally affordable! I didn't know where I'd leave my luggage while we explored San Fran, so I easily Googled luggage storage and found this company. At first it was a little odd dropping my bag off at a chocolate store, but the lady at the register was able to immediately pull up my reservation without any problems and then she put a lock on my suitcase and gave me a card to get it back with. She pushed the bag to the back of their storage room and I came back about 6 hours later to pick it up. Great service, I will definitely be using this again when I travel!
Can’t believe I haven’t used this service until now. So easy & convenient. I 100% recommend.
I used Bounce during a recent trip to NYC, and I was pleasantly surprised at the ease and convenience of the process. To be honest, at first, I was very apprehensive. The thought of leaving your stuff at a random store, in a place where you are not from and you don't know whether is safe or not, it doesn't matter if anyone gives it a seal of approval, its difficult to be completely comfortable with the idea. However, I was very glad to be proven wrong. The place I chose was a great, clean bodega/deli in Soho and they were very responsive and the whole process felt very seamless. It was our last day in NYC and we had the full day before leaving the city, however our Airbnb was on the upper east side so we did not want to have to go back and forth. I would definitely recommend Bounce for travelers, especially when you need a place to just store your luggage for the day. The price could not be beat (since its for the whole day) and I will definitely be using this again!
Fantastic experience with Bounce! Stored a bag at the Grand Central location and on my last day at the 9/11 Memorial location. Both locations had friendly, efficient staff that were helpful and made everything very easy. Such a great option if your hotel isn't ready or you don't want the hassle of a bag in the city. Great, safe option. Thanks Bounce!
