About Trafalgar Square
Trafalgar Square is a public space in the City of Westminster in Central London. It was named as a tribute to the Battle of Trafalgar, which occurred just off Cape Trafalgar’s Coast in 1805. The landmark dates back to the 13th century, however, was later developed and reopened in 1844. The Square is known for the four lion statues that are positioned around Nelson’s Column, a tribute to Admiral Horatio Nelson who was killed during the Battle of Trafalgar.
