About Bryant Park

Bryant Park, found in Midtown Manhattan in New York City, is a 9.6-acre public park that is one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks. Nestled between avenues Fifth and Sixth, just outside the iconic Times Square, the privately-owned park offers a quiet escape from all the hustle and bustle in the city. The original park, named Reservoir Square, was established in 1847 but tragically burned down a few years later, in 1858. When it was reopened in 1884, the park was renamed Bryant Park after the journalist William Cullen Bryant. The space went through several renovations and developments up until the early 21st century and now features numerous amenities such as shaded walkways, a carousel and the seasonal “Winter Village,” among others.
