Situated between Central Park and the East River from East 59th through East 96th streets, the Upper East Side is one of the most affluent neighborhoods not only in New York City, but also the country at large. It encompasses the smaller enclaves of Lenox Hill, Carnegie Hill, and Yorkville. The Upper East Side is also home to Museum Mile, a stretch of some of the city’s finest and most frequently visited museums.
Fun fact: Alexander Hamilton died from his infamous duel with Aaron Burr in front of a fireplace that’s now installed at Gracie Mansion, the mayor’s official residence, located in Carl Schurz Park on East 88th Street.
Though the Upper East Side has a more relaxed pace than many other of the city’s neighborhoods, it doesn’t mean that there’s less to do. Here at Bounce, we recommend the following activities on the UES:
Visit the Central Park Zoo at the entrance of of Fifth Avenue at East 64th Street
Walk around the sprawling Metropolitan Museum of Art, aka The Met, and see special exhibitions in addition to its vast permanent displays
Marvel at the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed architectural wonder that is the Guggenheim Museum to witness some of modern and contemporary art’s finest masterpieces
Clad yourself in chic NYC style by shopping at the iconic Barneys New York and dine at Fred’s, its trendy in-house restaurant
Window shop at the dozens of designer boutiques that line Madison Avenue
Order the famous frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity III
Partake in prime people-watching along Park Avenue
MTA subway: 4, 5, 6, N, Q, R
Whether you’ve done some damage at the neighborhood’s many boutiques and department stores or simply want to drop off your bags before getting lost in Central Park, Bounce is equipped for all of your short-term storage needs.

Convenient to the Met, which does not allow luggage at coat check. Very easy check in and check out process, with lovely people at the front!

This was so cool!!!! Great service, extremely easy to use, and totally affordable! I didn't know where I'd leave my luggage while we explored San Fran, so I easily Googled luggage storage and found this company. At first it was a little odd dropping my bag off at a chocolate store, but the lady at the register was able to immediately pull up my reservation without any problems and then she put a lock on my suitcase and gave me a card to get it back with. She pushed the bag to the back of their storage room and I came back about 6 hours later to pick it up. Great service, I will definitely be using this again when I travel!
