At 200,000 riders each day, Jamaica Station is Long Island’s biggest transit hub. It’s also one of the country’s biggest, too. It’s the fourth largest to be exact. This station is a central fixture in Jamaica in the New York City borough of Queens. Each day, a thousand trains run through here.
Its sleek design features an array of escalators and stairways leading to the train platforms. American Beaux-Arts and Gothic Revival architect Kenneth M. Murchison designed Jamaica Station. Construction began on this station in 1912 and ran through 1913. It replaced two other stations in the area. Train riders can catch buses and other forms of public transit from Jamaica Station. It’s possible to reach John F. Kennedy Airport via subway from here, as well as Midtown Manhattan.

Food and drink options are plentiful. You’ll find vegan-friendly food options at Jamaicain Flame. Tacos to die for at Jardin delos Sabores and even some barbecue options at Dallas BBQ. Many of the places feel cozy and neighborhoody. Many of the food offerings could rival your grandma’s recipes, at least when it comes to tasting home cooked. Yum!

Records show that the current version of Jamaica Station was built somewhere around 1912 - 1913. The late Beaux-Arts architect Kenneth M. Murchison designed the station. He was commissioned to replace the “Old Jamaica” and “Jamaica-Beaver street” stations. Over the years, Murchison’s station was renovated numerous times. The first big wave of renovations came in 1994; elevators, staircases, and new platforms were added to the station. From 2001 to 2006, the station was upgraded with even more platforms, a mezzanine that connected to AirTrain, and the station’s now-famous glass canopy. As of 2015, Jamaica station has consistently received capacity upgrades. More platforms should be added to the station throughout the 2020s.
A person could make a day out of exploring Jamaica Station and its nearby points of interest. Queens isn’t just one of New York’s most diverse boroughs, it’s also one of its most populated. The same applies to Jamaica; as of 2010, it reported a population of 53,751 citizens. This number marks an increase of nearly 2,000 residents since 2000. Jamaica has large African-American, Asian, and Hispanic communities. This fact is what makes Jamaica truly feel like a melting pot of various cultures and ideas. It’s worth noting that Jamaica is a densely populated area. This means that it can be hard to find viable luggage storage options during certain times of the year. Jamaica Station also only has so much room for patrons to store their things. That’s why guests should use Bounce when they’re sightseeing anywhere near Jamaica Station.

Luggage Storage Near Flushing Meadows Park
Flushing Meadows - Corona Park, more commonly known as Flushing Meadows Park, is one of Queens’ most famous public parks. This area is more than 897 acres wide and features lakes, trails, and water fountains. It was built many, many years ago - first as a dumping ground, and then as a park. In 1939 and in 1964, Flushing Meadows Park hosted two of New York’s World Fairs. These days, Flushing Meadows Park is known as the home of two major New York Landmarks: the Unisphere, and the New York State Pavilion. Honestly, Flushing Meadows Park has become a landmark in its own right. Guests will find plenty of amazing things at the park and will want to spend as much time as possible.

New York has always prided itself on leading the nation in science and art. Again, some of the first World Fairs were held in the Big Apple. Places like the New York Hall of Science simply keep that tradition alive. Here, visitors are encouraged to “design, make, and play.” Some of the Hall’s biggest attractions are its Design Lab, Scattered Lights, and Mathematica exhibits. Luggage Storage Near Queens Museum
The Queens Museum is your one-stop-shop for anything related to the borough’s history. This venue was originally known as the Queens Museum of Art. However, its name was shortened once the museum’s owners decided to showcase exhibits about Queens’ history. Some of the museum’s most noteworthy exhibits are the Panorama of the City of New York, the Neustadt Collection of Tiffany Glass, and the World’s Fair Visual Storage and Gallery. All of these amazing exhibits, and many more that we couldn’t mention, are easily worth the price of admission.
Convenient to the Met, which does not allow luggage at coat check. Very easy check in and check out process, with lovely people at the front!
This was so cool!!!! Great service, extremely easy to use, and totally affordable! I didn't know where I'd leave my luggage while we explored San Fran, so I easily Googled luggage storage and found this company. At first it was a little odd dropping my bag off at a chocolate store, but the lady at the register was able to immediately pull up my reservation without any problems and then she put a lock on my suitcase and gave me a card to get it back with. She pushed the bag to the back of their storage room and I came back about 6 hours later to pick it up. Great service, I will definitely be using this again when I travel!
Can’t believe I haven’t used this service until now. So easy & convenient. I 100% recommend.
I used Bounce during a recent trip to NYC, and I was pleasantly surprised at the ease and convenience of the process. To be honest, at first, I was very apprehensive. The thought of leaving your stuff at a random store, in a place where you are not from and you don't know whether is safe or not, it doesn't matter if anyone gives it a seal of approval, its difficult to be completely comfortable with the idea. However, I was very glad to be proven wrong. The place I chose was a great, clean bodega/deli in Soho and they were very responsive and the whole process felt very seamless. It was our last day in NYC and we had the full day before leaving the city, however our Airbnb was on the upper east side so we did not want to have to go back and forth. I would definitely recommend Bounce for travelers, especially when you need a place to just store your luggage for the day. The price could not be beat (since its for the whole day) and I will definitely be using this again!
Fantastic experience with Bounce! Stored a bag at the Grand Central location and on my last day at the 9/11 Memorial location. Both locations had friendly, efficient staff that were helpful and made everything very easy. Such a great option if your hotel isn't ready or you don't want the hassle of a bag in the city. Great, safe option. Thanks Bounce!
