The first big wave of renovations came in 1994; elevators, staircases, and new platforms were added to the station. From 2001 to 2006, the station was upgraded with even more platforms, a mezzanine that connected to AirTrain, and the station’s now-famous glass canopy. As of 2015, Jamaica station has consistently received capacity upgrades. More platforms should be added to the station throughout the 2020s.
