Store your luggage around Syracuse with Bounce

Syracuse is a city in New York State and the seat of Onondaga County. It’s ranked as the fifth most populous city in New York and was named after the Greek city of the same name found on the eastern side of Sicily, Italy. Located on the northeast side of the Finger Lakes region, at the intersection of Interstates 81 and 90, Syracuse has a reputation for being one of the best-preserved cities in Central New York.

Syracuse is often overshadowed by nearby cities like New York City, Boston, or Philadelphia. However, in recent years, Syracuse has come to its own, and more and more people are starting to appreciate the city even more. While the area has undergone urbanization, it has a treasure trove of historical landmarks and restored buildings. Away from the hustle and bustle of the bigger cities, Syracuse has plenty of attractions and activities to keep you busy.

Travelers will find it much easier to explore Syracuse without carrying around heavy luggage. Take advantage of our trustworthy and easy to use luggage storage service to keep your suitcases safely tucked away while you make the most of your time here.

Everson Museum of Art

Whether you’re an art enthusiast or not, everyone should visit the Everson Museum of Art, the first ever museum solely dedicated to featuring American art. Located in Downtown Syracuse, this museum now features wonderful permanent collections including one of the biggest displays of ceramics in the entire nation. Among their 10,000 works of art are sculptures, drawings, paintings, and video artworks. Even the building itself, designed by I.M. Pei, is considered to be a work of art.

Everson Museum of Art bag policy

This museum doesn’t allow visitors to enter with anything carried on their backs, which means backpacks, child carriers, and similar items are prohibited. Food, beverages, and anything that can’t be carried easily and safely will need to be stored as well, although strollers are allowed. Guests are asked to use their storage lockers to hold belongings, and umbrellas must be left at the Visitor Service Desk. If you don’t feel confident leaving your belongings in the museum or want to skip waiting in the queue, you can easily find a Bounce left luggage partner nearby.

Museum of Science & Technology

Get your science fix at this museum, officially known as the Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science and Technology. The museum is situated in Armory Square, Downtown Syracuse, and attracts all kinds of visitors to its 35,000-square-foot establishment. With a hands-on approach to learning, the museum's goal is to offer interactive exhibits that make visitors curious and eager to learn. The many permanent and traveling exhibits can be enjoyed by guests of all ages and are a fantastic activity for families.

Museum of Science & Technology bag policy

The Museum of Science & Technology doesn’t have a bag policy, but if you’re traveling with kids, you may have your hands full. Take advantage of Bounce luggage storage Syracuse to store luggage, coats, extra bags, or other items you don’t need at the museum.

Erie Canal Museum

Established in 1962, the Erie Canal Museum is dedicated to preserving and sharing the history and development of the 363-mile-long canal that stretched from Buffalo to Albany. Dating back to 1825, the Erie Canal was one of the country’s biggest projects and was constructed over a span of eight years. At the museum, you’ll find a permanent collection of artifacts, images, paintings, interactive displays, and exhibits related to the Erie Canal and its story. The crown jewel of the museum is the building where it’s located. Dating back to 1850, the building was used to weigh the boats that traveled on the Erie Canal. Today, it’s one of the city’s best-preserved buildings and the last existing weighlock building in the United States.

Erie Canal Museum bag policy

This museum is free to visit and has no clear bag policy, but you don’t want to show up with large bags and oversized items. Drop off your things for an hour or two while you tour the museum by booking at any of our luggage storage options nearby.

These are just a few of the museums you can visit in Syracuse. Before you head out to explore the exhibits, it’s important to consider the museum’s bag policies and to store any prohibited items or bags. Not all museums have luggage lockers on site, but you can always book luggage storage in advance with Bounce and drop off your belongings on your way.
