With incredible scenery, a plethora of outdoor adventures, beautiful beaches, and mouth-watering seafood dishes, it’s easy to understand why visitors flock to this island. Jeju is home to 3 UNESCO World Heritage sites, surf breaks, beach resorts, volcanic mountains, and has a distinct local culture.
Since you’re bound to be on the go throughout your time in Jeju, make use of Bounce to store non-essential items, so you aren’t stuck lugging around extra weight.

Top things to Do
While there are all kinds of incredible outdoor activities to partake in within Jeju, you should also seize the opportunity to explore the city as well. You’ll discover a mixture of funky boutiques, high-end shopping experiences, fascinating museums, and vibrant market places. Bounce put together this Jeju City guide to help you plan your visit.
Museums
Jeju’s museums offer a glimpse into the island’s unique history and culture and help you understand what makes this place so special. You’ll learn to reconnect with nature, discover a unique local culture, and gain a deeper understanding of the island’s natural history. Here are a few museums Bounce suggests checking out.
Spirited Garden: This beautiful garden is designed to provide you with peaceful spaces for self-reflection and stress reduction. In addition to plants and bonsai trees, you’ll encounter rock formations, waterfalls, and pools. With such beautiful environments to occupy, you’re sure to leave feeling more relaxed and at peace.
Haenyeo Museum: This museum is dedicated to the Haenyeo, female divers who collect seaweed and shellfish from below the ocean’s surface. This is a traditional profession that is recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage. The museum features exhibits highlighting stories of Haenyeo women, the tools they use, and providing a glimpse into their way of life.
Jeju Folklore & Natural Museum: This museum offers insight into the natural history of Jeju Island. You’ll learn about everything from volcanic activity to native plants and animals, and the folklore surrounding the island. After you browse the exhibits, you can stroll through the surrounding gardens.
Shopping
Jeju certainly doesn’t offer the impressive shopping facilities that you’ll find in Seoul, but there are still a few prime places to pick up souvenirs, clothing items, and curios. Bounce recommends the following shopping destinations. Since market places and shopping malls can be crowded, drop your extra bags with Bounce while you shop, so you don’t have to deal with bulky luggage.
Yeong Dong Shopping District: This part of town is packed with everything from local boutiques to outlets and independent shops. You’re sure to encounter many unique and offbeat items in this area. The streets are dotted with cafes and restaurants, which are perfect for refueling in between shopping sprees.
Jungang Underground Shopping Center: This underground mall offers a huge range of products and vendors at reasonable prices. You’ll find cosmetics, accessories, clothing items, shoes, and just about anything else you may need. If you’re looking for an inexpensive and practical addition to your wardrobe, this is a great place to look.
Jeju Chilsung Fashion Street: Famous international brands line this pedestrian street in Jeju. You’ll find New Balance, Starbucks, Tommy Hilfiger, Addidas, and many more names that you’ll recognize. The street leads into the Dongmu market, where you’ll find local food items on sale.
Dining
Jeju is known for its seafood, which is often collected by Haenjeo, the island’s famous female divers. Abalone is one of the most popular seafood items, but you’ll encounter sea cucumber, octopus, and a wide range of fish as well. Jeju is also known for its tangerines and its black pork dish, made from a pig species native to the island. The following are a few locations where you can sample Jeju’s signature flavors.
Dongmun Market: This market is the perfect place to pick up local food and produce in Jeju. You’ll encounter vendors selling everything from tangerines to seafood and beyond. The market is most lively on the weekends.
Donsadon: This popular restaurant specializes in grilled black pork. This dish is unique to Jeju because the pork comes from pigs that are native to Jeju island. There are many restaurants where you can sample this famous dish, but Donsadon is one of the most beloved options.
Myeongjin Jeonbok: Located on the eastern end of the island, this restaurant is the perfect place to sample Jeju’s incredible abalone. The menu only offers 4 items, each featuring abalone prepared in a distinct way. As a bonus, the dining room in this restaurant offers an ocean view.

This was so cool!!!! Great service, extremely easy to use, and totally affordable! I didn't know where I'd leave my luggage while we explored San Fran, so I easily Googled luggage storage and found this company. At first it was a little odd dropping my bag off at a chocolate store, but the lady at the register was able to immediately pull up my reservation without any problems and then she put a lock on my suitcase and gave me a card to get it back with. She pushed the bag to the back of their storage room and I came back about 6 hours later to pick it up. Great service, I will definitely be using this again when I travel!
